Internationally recognised illustrator and visual artist. After studying modern history at the University of Milan, he moved to New York, where he began his career as an editorial illustrator and collaborated with renowned publishers. At the same time, he developed his own artistic style, characterised by a contemplative and expressive visual language that transforms everyday scenes into visual reflections. His works have been exhibited in Italy, Germany and the USA. He currently lives and works in Berlin, and his Italian roots remain an essential part of his visual exploration.
1968: Andrea Ventura is born in Paris to Italian parents and is the twin brother of Paolo Ventura. He spends his childhood in Milan and Tuscany. He attends the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and studies history at university. He then spends a year in the army.
1991: He moved to New York, where he worked for the New York Times, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone Magazine, Time, Newsweek and other national and international newspapers, magazines and books. His works have now also been published in magazines and newspapers such as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Neue Züricher Zeitung, Vogue Italia and many others.
2013: He published an autobiography entitled ‘Carnevale’.
Andrea Ventura lives and works in Berlin and Milan.
